 Equipment Manager Class of 1993 A native Staten Islander, given the name Virgil Speroni at birth, he is known to everyone as "Joe Jilts". For 23 years Joe served as equipment manager at Wagner College. During his tenure he served as kicking coach. To the athletes, Joe was a father, a mother, a conscience, a disciplinarian, a fan, a coach, a supporter and a confidant, but most importantly, a friend. Joe still keeps in touch with hundreds of former Wagner athletes and can be found on the sidelines at all Wagner home football games. |
