Michael Perfect
Football
Class of 1942

Michael Perfect, one of the most versatile athletes of his era, was a standout member of both the Seahawk baseball and football squads. In football, Perfect was a four year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines. In 1940 he was selected to captain the Wagner grid squad, which posted a 4-2-0 record. During his four seasons of football the team was 17-6-1 after posting a 1-17-3 record for the previous four years. Offensively, he started at center where he was instrumental in making the single and T-wing offenses, rarely making a bad pass into the backfield. Defensively, Perfect was equally impressive, intercepting many passes in a day where run plays far outnumbered pass plays. On the baseball diamond Perfect was a four year starter at second base. While solidifying the infield he also anchored the middle of the Seahawk's offensive attack, boasting a career batting average above .300.
